To begin with, technology advancements have changed the values of younger generations. For instance, CDs and CD players were purchased by many young people in the past, but not many young people today value them anymore. This is because internet services like YouTube now provide music. In the past, CDs and electrical appliances were considered valuable objects, but young people today do not think so.

Moreover, young people today really like sharing things with others. They use social media to post pictures or comments, and then others respond to them. Getting responses from others is really important to them because it meets their esteem needs.

In addition, the form of friendship has changed over the past years. Many young people value this form of friendship. By using the social media, it is easy to find friends who have the same interest. Some people prefer online friendship to real one, without seeing each other in person. The convenience of digital devices such as smartphones has contributed greatly to changes of the values of young people today.
